Troker, Dwight Trible, Kamau DaƔood & Indus Valley Civilization (MMM)

Indus Valley Civilization is a group born out the now historic Miles From India sessions, which featured the percussive forces of Ndugu Chancler, Badal Roy and Anantha Krishnan. These 3 percussionists get together with a group of brilliant California musicians including Alphonso Johnson (bass), Otmaro Ruiz (keyboards), and Justo Almario (reeds) to form a progressive fusion band with their own identity. The music will mostly feature compositions by one of the finest Indian jazz keyboardists, Louiz Banks, who was not only an integral part of Miles from India, but whose resume includes performances with John Mclaughlin, Dizzy Gillespie, Mike Stern. These compositions were performed in the 1980’s by Louiz Banks and the late great saxophonist Charlie Mariano, in their Indo-jazz group Sangam, which also featured faculty members of the Karnataka College of Percussion.
