Getting Here & Parking Your Vehicle

For maps and detailed information, please visit our Map & Directions page HERE, but for a quick run down...

Address: Grand Performances' shows are on California Plaza in Downtown Los Angeles (350 S. Grand Avenue, Los Angeles, CA 90071).

Cars: The underground parking garage for Cal Plaza is best accessed from Olive St., between 1st and 4th streets. The driveway is on your right as you head South on Olive, just before the underpass before 4th Street. Parking is $7.50 (cash only) after 5pm.

We highly recommend finding alternate parking for our noon shows on Friday, as daytime parking at CalPlaza will run you $38 or more! (There are plenty of other public parking areas around; check out our blog for details, or get more info on this printable map.)

From there, hop into an elevator to the Plaza Level (LP) and let your ears guide you the rest of the way.

Bikes: Bikes aren't allowed to be ridden on Cal Plaza, but we've got a Bike Valet for select shows. Click this section to learn more.

In addition to the bike valet, there are a number of bike racks available on Grand Ave., and on the P2 Level of the secure underground parking garage.

If you need help with exact locations, feel free to ask the folks at the GP info cart, any one of the friendly MPG security officers (often in suits) or the Purple Patrol, who represent the Downtown Central Business Improvement District. We're all happy to help!

Public transportation: We're a block and an Angel Flight's ride away from the Pershing Square station off the Metro Red and Purple Lines.

Visit our Maps & Directions Page for the Metro Trip Planner and to get additional information about all your transportation options.

What to Bring

The Lay of the Land - Seating

As you know, Grand Performances' shows on Cal Plaza are 100% absolutely FREE to attend; no tickets or reservations required (ever!), so all you really need to bring is your enthusiasm for an amazing evening of performing arts!

We set up about 800 chairs for Water Stage shows, and the Marina Pavilion seats about 300 people comfortably. There are also benches on the upper level of Cal Plaza. Seating is open, begins two hours prior to performance and is filled on a first-come first-served basis.

If you don't plan on getting here super early, bring your own folding chairs - just don't block any areas designated for walking, dancing or wheelchairs.

Regardless of where you sit, please bring whatever makes you comfortable for a 2+ hour show - be it blankets, pillows, cushions, jackets or even snuggies (we won't judge). After sunset, Southern California nights can vacillate between stifling hot and teeth-chatteringly chilly, so check the evening's forecast and come prepared!

*Those reserved seats you see? For every show, we hold a small amount of preferred seating for our GP Jewels. It's only a tiny fraction of the entire house (5-10%, depending on the show), and it's our small way of thanking those who make our performances possible!

Food and Drink

We want you to have a great night with us, and grub and grog only help that, so we heartily encourage you to bring as much food and drink as you're willing to carry. Many GP veterans come early with picnic baskets to stake out seats, and pass time with friends over some good food. (Click here for our updated alcohol policy)

If you bring an impressive spread, you may even make it on our blog. If you don't have the time or inclination to prepare a meal at home, check out the Where to Get the Stuff You Forgot (or Didn't Want) To Bring section.

What Not to Bring

As much as we love our furry and fine-feathered companions, pets are not allowed on the plaza (except for seeing eye dogs and other assistance animals).

Also not allowed for the safety and comfort of the other concert goers & performers:

- Bicycles either chained on or ridden across Cal Plaza itself - please lock it up at a designed bike rack (see above)

- Unauthorized recording devices (if you're with the media, shoot our Communications Department an email, and we'll make sure you're taken care of)

- Flash photography
