The conga or tumbadora originated as a musical instrument in 19th century Cuba and was part and parcel of Havana’s inner-city parties they called rumbas. In fact, the Cubans had many terms for parties: Tumbas, changüí, guateques. bembé, macumbas and mambos - but the words make no difference - these masters ( Milton Cardonas, Francisco Aguabella and Carlos "Patato" Valdez) will make this concert un gran baile! |
