Zairean-born, Angola-raised, singer/songwriter Waldemar Bastos returns for an evening of gently urgent rhythms, timelessly beautiful melodies and poetic lyrics. His is a message born in a war-torn land, emphasizing the value of all life, and the profound need for hope. Congo-born, and of Angolan ancestry, Ricardo Lemvo makes music that is a seductive blend of soukous, salsa, merengue, Afro-Portuguese and Congolese rhythms. One stage, two music maestros each adept at creating an emotional connection with the audience. Grand Performances’ fundraiser takes place earlier this evening. Preferred seating for fundraiser attendees.
Please join us for a magical evening of dinner, drinks, and entertaining music beneath Downtown’s twinkling skyline. Tickets are $150 ($125 tax-deductible) until July 11, thereafter they are $200 ($175 tax-deductible.) Contact Alyssa for more information.
