Adrian Quesada brings his visionary sound to Grand Performances this summer, debuting music from his highly anticipated Boleros Psicodélicos II, presented de De Los (Los Angeles Times)
A generational talent, Adrian Quesada has won Grammys with Grupo Fantasma and headlined stadiums with the Black Pumas. On Boleros Psicodélicos II, Quesada dives even deeper into the lush, dramatic world of Latin American balada, blending vintage bolero with hip-hop beats, psychedelic grooves, and soul-drenched intensity.
The star-studded album features Cuco, iLe, Ed Maverick, Hermanos Gutiérrez, Angélica Garcia, Daymé Arocena, Monsieur Periné, Gepe, and more. You never know who might show up for a surprise appearance for the album release show at Grand Performances.

Adrian Quesada
Grammy-winning and Oscar-nominated artist Adrian Quesada is best known as the co-founder, guitarist, and producer of Black Pumas, whose 2019 self-titled debut earned seven Grammy nominations—including Album of the Year—and spawned the hit single “Colors.” The band’s meteoric rise included sold-out tours across the globe, a performance at President Biden’s Inauguration, and appearances on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon and Jimmy Kimmel Live!. Their sophomore album Chronicles of a Diamond earned a 2024 Grammy nod for Best Rock Song.
A genre-defying producer and guitarist, Quesada has released acclaimed solo projects like Boleros Psicodélicos and Jaguar Sound, blending Latin ballads, psychedelic soul, hip-hop, and cinematic soundscapes. In 2023, he won a Latin Grammy for Best Rock Song with Diamante Eléctrico, and in 2025 earned an Academy Award nomination for his song “Like a Bird” from the A24 film Sing Sing.
Quesada’s latest release, Boleros Psicodélicos II, expands his exploration of romantic Latin music with collaborators including Cuco, iLe, Angélica Garcia, and Hermanos Gutiérrez. Based in Austin, he also runs Electric Deluxe Recorders, the creative hub behind many of his celebrated projects.
Explorare
Founded in Los Angeles in 2022, Explorare is a shape-shifting musical collective rooted in live improvisation and community. Originally launched as a monthly residency at Melody Lounge in Chinatown, the ensemble quickly gained a following with high-energy performances that led to a six-month Saturday residency at Clifton’s Republic and expanded into venues across the city.
Their self-titled debut album Explorare, featuring Diego Gaeta and Tony Martin (of Brainstory), was released in 2023 and captures the group’s spontaneous, genre-blurring sound. As a record label and live project, Explorare extends the mission of Domanda Music, creating space for adventurous sonic collaboration and boundary-pushing performance.
With a rotating cast of musicians and a focus on in-the-moment creation, Explorare isn’t just a band—it’s a living, breathing exploration of sound.
El Marchante
El Marchante, born in Caracas, Venezuela in 2015 as an online record shop, has evolved into a dynamic project with a singular focus: researching, compiling, and sharing Latin American music. With a presence in both Caracas and Los Angeles, El Marchante doesn’t just sell vinyl records; it celebrates music through live events paying tribute to Latin American and Caribbean heritage. This project’s direct approach and unwavering commitment to the music of the region make it a vital player in preserving and promoting Latin American musical culture.
