In the mid to late 90s hip hop found firm footing as a cultural movement of its own. For some, it is a way of life, a way of expressing oneself. The media image for hip-hop culture then, as it is now, is one of mostly negative stereotypes. Hope In Hollywood endeavors to expose audiences to the positive side of hip-hop. The group is led by Marissa "Mighty Labog who uses the energy, vitality, and spirituality of hip-hop dance to connect with teenagers and help them channel their energies into this art form. This is an excellent opportunity to witness the physicality and grace of this dance form as well as to communicate with the young people who use this form of expression to a positive end.
