Last year's wildly creative 70-piece Dakah Hip Hop Orchestra makes a return visit to California Plaza. Principal composer, conductor, and baritone saxophonist, Geoff "GG" Gallegos will unveil world premiere works commissioned by Grand Performances. Il will be an evening of progressive genre-blending, where the spirits of past jazz giants such as Charles Mingus and Duke Ellington will fuse effortlessly with hip-hop, European classical music, turntables, singers, MCs, and free jazz.
