We are honored to present at the Los Angeles concert premiere of “Theme for Monterey” (commissioned for the Monterey Jazz Festival’s 40th anniversary). This work is an homage to the coastal town that has captivated the legendary big band leader since he first plated in Carmel as a member of Ellington’s trumpet section in 1960. The five variations on the 40-bar theme include Roman, Lyon’s Roar, The Lone Cypress, Spanish Bay, and Cookin’ on Cannery Row. This will be a magical night!
