This inter-generational dance party honors the legacy of Stevie Wonder, with DJ Spinna highlighting his classic catalogue, remixes and edits, as well as Stevie’s production for other artists. Stevie’s seminal Songs in the Key of Life album turns 50 this year, and WONDER-FULL celebrates 20, making this not-to-be-missed event even more special. DJ Monalisa, MC Cognito, and other guests will make appearances throughout the evening. Curated by Footlong Productions.
DJ Spinna
DJ Spinna is something of an anomaly in music. With a steadfast work ethic, an obsessively extensive vinyl library and the willingness to pursue the full extents of his roots (Funk, Soul R&B and Jazz), foundation (Hip-Hop) and future (Electronic/Dance music) without any restraints.
A cornerstone of Hip-Hop’s late 90’s indie-uprise, DJ Spinna made much of his first impression on listeners by providing the canvas for an array of that era’s lyrical giants including Eminem, Mos Def, Talib Kweli, Pharoahe Monch and De La Soul.
Tapped by everyone from Mary J. Blige, to Motown Records for his brilliant Michael Jackson remix of “We’re Almost There”. It’s here his production presence would flourish greatly, as Spinna would go on to revive and revise Jazz and Soul marvels like Donald Byrd, Eddie Kendricks, Betty Carter, Roy Ayers and Al Jarreau.
Monalisa
Monalisa Murray has been associated with quality music and events in Los Angeles and across the country for over two decades and has been an active DJ for 16 years. Her music format is described as "anything with a groove", ranging from soul, funk, & hip hop to rock, pop, jazz-funk & world music, but also includes less familiar and undiscovered gems & jams of all genres.
Cognito
Over the past twenty years, Cognito has contributed immensely to the propagation of Hip Hop culture— from concert promoter to FatBeats record store operator to touring the world as a member of the underground group massinfluence. Most consistently, Cognito is known for documenting legendary hip hop artists such as Mos Def, De La Soul, Talib Kweli, MF DOOM, and Kanye West on both still and video media. He has filmed MF DOOM for the Gorillaz live DVD, documentaries on both Talib Kweli and Goodie Mob, a music video for rock diva Nikka Costa, and presented his photographs captured while on tour with Mos Def in a well-received gallery show at Los Angeles’ HVW8 Gallery during the month of February 2010. His work has been featured as cover and editorial photos in national magazines Spin, Frank 151 & XXL.

Known for elevating the themed party experience, the brand is behind world-renowned celebrations like Wonder-Full: Celebrating the Wonders of Stevie, Soul Slam (Prince vs. Michael Jackson), and Flavors 90’s. Beyond the dance floor, the platform also hosts film screenings and special one-off cultural events.
