PRODUCTION CREW (multiple positions open!)

DESCRIPTION:

Grand Performances, L.A.’s premiere free summer concert presenter, seeks a Stage Production Crew members to staff productions with experience in stagecraft at our unique outdoor venue. The 2025 Grand Performances season runs June - August. This is a part-time, non-exempt, seasonal position. Compensation based on experience.

We are looking for candidates with skill sets in one or more of the following areas:

  • Lighting technician (climb, hang, focus, troubleshoot, follow spot).

  • Audio technician (stage micing, backline, wireless).

  • Video technician (switching, projection, camera, streaming).

  • Front of House technician (vendor coordination, logistics, hospitality, stage hand).

Strong preference given to multi-disciplinary candidates.

Major Duties and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Setup, run and take down the required equipment based on the production needs for each performance.

  • Ability to trouble shoot basic audio, lighting, projection, stage machinery, venue logistics, and stagecraft issues in areas of specialty.

  • Ability to perform minor repairs and general maintenance of stage equipment in areas of specialty.

  • Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 3 years of experience of audio/lighting/staging or a minimum of 1 year of experience of venue logistics.

  • Able to think on your feet and manage multiple responsibilities at once.

  • Working nights and weekends.

  • Must be physically strong and able to stand and walk for a significant amount of time.

  • Must be able to lift at least 50lbs.

  • Experience in multiple departments of Stagecraft.

PAY RATE: $20-25, based on experience and technical requirements

MARKETING INTERNSHIP

DESCRIPTION:

An integral member of the creative services team, the Marketing Intern will focus on MARKETING AND PUBLICITY for Grand Performances’ 2025 summer programming at California Plaza in Downtown Los Angeles. They will develop a foundational understanding of marketing and advertising across both digital and traditional outlets for a wide variety of global artists representing a diverse array of genres. They will also engage potential GP community partners to promote programming to existing audiences, help identify new audiences, and cultivate relationships with community groups interested in our programming. This position will work between 30-40 hours per week from June 3 - August 31, 2025.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Current undergraduate student - Available to work evenings and weekends at performances - Creative, proactive, highly organized, computer literate, outgoing, and adaptable - Possess strong written, verbal and interpersonal skills - Social Media experience: Instagram, YouTube, TikTok, Facebook, and Twitter - Experience with Adobe Creative Suite programs - Experience with Microsoft 365, Google Drive and Dropbox is a plus - Detail-oriented and able to complete tasks in a timely manner - Professional demeanor when interacting with staff, technicians, volunteers, patrons, and artists.

Positions are open to currently enrolled undergraduate (2 or 4 year) and community college students who reside or attend college in LA County. Recent graduates may apply as long as they have completed their degree between May 1 – December 1, 2025.

  • Students who have already earned a BA, BS, or a higher degree are not eligible for the Los Angeles County Arts Internship Program.

  • Students who have previously participated in the program are not eligible to participate a second time.

  • Students must posses the legal right to work in the United States.

COMMUNITY & DONOR RELATIONS INTERNSHIP

DESCRIPTION:

The Community and Donor Relations Intern will focus on AUDIENCE DEVELOPMENT for Grand Performances’ 2025 summer programming at California Plaza in Downtown Los Angeles. They are a key member of the development team, assisting in both administrative and live event work. They will support the organization’s efforts to build donor and community audiences, maintain development databases, and create multimedia content to promote the membership program. This position will work between 30 - 40 hours per week from June 3 – September 5, 2025.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Current undergraduate student - Available to work evenings and weekends at performances - Creative, proactive, highly organized, computer literate, outgoing, and adaptable - Possess strong written, verbal and interpersonal skills - Basic knowledge of photo editing (Photoshop, Canva), video editing (Adobe Premier, iMovie), social media (YouTube, Instagram, TikTok), and web (WordPress, blogging) preferred. - Experience with Microsoft 365, Google Drive and Dropbox is a plus - Detail-oriented and able to complete tasks in a timely manner - Professional demeanor when interacting with staff, technicians, volunteers, patrons, and artists
